Ever had to eat alone?
Don't leave your food unattended, especially in an open air hawker or canteen.
Here's why:
I missed my catered breakfast timing so I had to go out to pack some food back.
I went to the canteen closest to my hall and I saw that the yong tau foo stall had no queue. IT ALWAYS HAS SNAKING QUEUES. One to pick your dishes the other to collect your prepared food. So I jumped at the opportunity cos the food is rly good and cheap and I was hungry!!
I was lazy to pack it back to the room so I decided to have it there. I searched around for a good seat, one with a strong fan and a clean table top. I left my piping hot freshly prepared $3.20 laksa yong tau foo on the table and bought an ice cold lemon tea to accompany my spicy noodles.
I came back in less than 30s and I witnessed the remnants of a heinous crime!!
SOMEONE TOUCHED MY NOODLES.
There was laksa splashed on my tray. My eyes followed the orange trial, and it led to the other corner of the table....... then I realized!!!!
BLOODY BIRDS.
I looked infront and saw them fighting over my TAU POK. T_T *CRY ME A RIVER*
The Singaporean in me had a debate. I was like H5N5 or my Laksa? Hahahaha. I rly felt sad!!
Aye. So I settled for something cheaper. Due to my rookie mistake.
The cleaning station aunty was super nice to me though!! She said I could ask her help to guard my food next time. Hahaha.
