Genki Sushi x NIKE WE RUN
So bf and I went to collect our race pack from Orchard Central!
There were sooo many people but the queues moved quite quickly!
After that we went to eat Genki Sushi!
It's a very interesting concept cos they don't use waiters to serve you your food. They have the normal conveyor belt things but above that they have 'car' tracks! The food is served to you in a race car that stops at your table and you have to press a button to send the car back!
Only the Japanese will come up with such innovative dining ideas. I had a video but my phone cocked up and didn't save so I make it up by showing you ultra delicious salmon!
We had salmon sashimi and 3 types of salmon, they were super super delicious. I love salmon a lot and this is really one of the best salmon served at approx $5 and really disappoint.
This is a Crab Meat + Roe Chawanmushi.
I think this is the best deal on the menu, smoked duck sushi for$1.90. DAMN GOOD I SWEAR!!
The vegetable kariage / gyoza / coroquette was average. They were pretty oily! Should have ordered the chicken wings instead.
This clam soup is new to the menu and was not bad. It was priced about $4, personally I think it's quite a good deal for clam soup cos most of the time they cost about $10 in other local Japanese restaurants!
We spent about $50 for the 2 of us which included one katsu curry don which makes it rather economical but I would only recommend the sushi and none of the fried stuff because they smelled of oil and didn't taste that awesome.
Overall 4 out of 5. Will return when less broke. Haha.

NIKE WE RUN 10 KM
Too be honest, I don't love running. I find it tiring.. which is what exercise should feel like, right?
( I know I'm damn lazy.)
Some of my friends (well, coming from a triathlon team, you're bound to know some running fanatics) LOVE it. I really admire how some people can pop on their running shoes early in the morning and go for a sweaty work out. Some of my ex team mates would meet at Mc Ritchie reservoir and run the entire 11km route. I'll never reach that stage of determination or passion for running. I'm just a sloth when it comes to running.
BUT...
I decided to sign up for NIKE WE RUN 10km cos I actually ran once in 2011 and I hoped it'd give me some motivation to go to the gym which it has and still does! (I went to gym today *throws confetti*) Also, I thought it'd be fun to go running with my bf cos he was/is? the reason I started to take interest in running/swimming.
Got up at 6am and my body clock is used to sleeping at 2am. Yes. 4 hours of sleep...
I filtered it this white so that our dark eye circles are invisible. hehe.
Yup, camwhore before the race! Everyone was in red and I was the only goondu in my own attire. I'm so lame. I can't even..
Halfway through about 2km my ankle started to hurt.. which it has been for the past month.
I'm not making the pain up. So poor bf had to walk/jog with me the remainder 8km. We finished in a glorious timing of 2 hours. 2 times the timing of my 2011 race. Haha.
So why not take some photos? I wore my glasses cos I don't like my running shades. I love transition lenses. They protect my eyes. I have this irrational fear of getting cataract when I'm older. So yes, transitions are the way to go. I'm not sure why people view it as a fashion disaster or something very uncool.
The rejuvenating sensation of ice cold 100 plus is amazing during a hot sweaty race.
Lots of... walkers. Better run away. (Walking Dead reference if you don't get it.)
Yay! Finally over after 2 hours in the sun. By now we were starving.. but yet we still took photos. lol.
We found this new concept store called
The Soup Spoon Union.
They combined soup spoon , hand burger and one more other store together.
This hearty breakfast was definitely reasonably priced! Spent a total of $24 between the 2 of us inclusive of a meal and drink each! We both had food on the farmer's breakfast menu.
Grilled cheese and ham sandwich.
I had eggs on toast with sauteed mushrooms and bacon. Thinking about it.. I'm salivating.
The red stuff in the little bowl was mexican baked beans! I'm not a fan of this but theirs was tasty so I ate most of it.
I feel a little bad cos I was such a burden during the race. Haha. I think bf tried to stop me from signing up cos he know this would happen! But it's ok I enjoyed waking up at godforsaken hour to run/walk. If not I'd never discover this awesome restaurant too. :)
